Literature Text
Crimson Nights
Fake smile
Pretending to be still alive
Sad eyes
Being the door to a lost soul
Pale skin
Showing the love for the darkness
Deep cuts
Numbing an unspoken pain
Red blood
Releasing the pain no words can express
Scars
Telling a story written in blood
Fake smile
Pretending to be still alive
Sad eyes
Being the door to a lost soul
Pale skin
Showing the love for the darkness
Deep cuts
Numbing an unspoken pain
Red blood
Releasing the pain no words can express
Scars
Telling a story written in blood

Self Harm
I scratch,
White marks appear.
As they turn red,
Out pours all my anger.
I smash,
My head against walls.
Pain soars through my body,
Releasing all my mental pain.
I burn,
Red marks on my skin.
They bring freedom,
Setting me free from the fires of hell.
Hurting no one but myself.
Finding mental freedom from physical pain.
Red, white, purple, blue.
Anger, rejection, upset, pain.
People say it's wrong,
They look down their noses.
Only making things worse,
Friends leave, strangers frown.
So,
I can't cope with my mental pain,
But i've never inflicted pain on YOU.
Literature
self-harm is for attention?
If self harm is for attention,
then why the scars we conceal,
why feel the guilt with every cut,
why know that within you will never truly heal,
if merely for attention,
the scars would be for all to see,
you'd want all to know what you do,
not be hating what you know you'll always be,
you'd cut and burn in front of others,
not forever behind closed doors,
feel accepted by all around,
not as if you're breaking some social law,
"self harm is for attention",
the words of an ignorant fool,
who think that we crave sympathy,
thing that having scars makes us feel "cool",
they don't think about what they are saying,
look for the log

Just commenting to let you know that I love the simplicity of this poem- it puts all the different types of pain and hurt together so well. And also to let you know that you're not alone here! I know you probably wont want to, but you can send me a note if you ever need to talk to someone.
